Postnatal Pilates Classes

Four’s postnatal mums and bubs reformer Pilates classes are run by our team of Women’s Health physiotherapists and pre/post-natal trained teachers. These classes are aimed at supporting you through your postpartum recovery in a supervised and progressive way - and the best part is that bub is welcome to join you!
We are here to guide you through a safe return to exercise following vaginal delivery or C-section. We focus on areas including the pelvic floor, abdominal strengthening, upper body and pelvic/hip stability.
No previous Pilates experience is required, however we do highly recommend (not mandatory) that all class members book a postnatal physiotherapy consultation prior to attending their first class.
About our MAMAS classes
Our team of Women's Health physios work closely with women everyday to help them navigate pregnancy and postpartum, and are highly trained in providing you with the best advice on when and how to return to movement. Reformer Pilates is a great way to move your body in the fourth trimester, ensuring that you are re-connecting with all of the right areas - and not overloading the wrong ones.
These classes are best suited for anyone who is 6 weeks postpartum onwards, and ideally you will have had a postnatal pelvic health check with one of our team prior.
The focus of these classes is on building strength, stability, and mobility in a safe, supervised and progressive way. We focus on core muscle connection, pelvic floor muscle activation, breathwork, the postural muscles and the glutes as key areas in this phase of your recovery.
Bubs are always welcome and we love a snuggle, however if your baby is on the move, for safety reasons, we kindly ask that they stay in the pram or at home. We have a baby change table in our client bathroom, and are happy for you to stop to feed, change, or just have a cuddle whenever you like throughout the class.
If you aren't sure if postnatal Pilates is right for you, our Women's Health physios are happy to see you for an assessment in clinic and can provide you with individualised advice on exercise and rehab.
